Love horns Nov. 2010

How many horns have I made so far? I think these are #56 and #57.
The big target horn makes a sweet small sound by using a sound box technique to contain the loud horn and let the sound trickle out of the bell.
This horn deserves to be in the lobby of a home or business to allow each visitor to announce that they are there, in whatever shape they wish to be in..

A conceptual sketch for a grant proposal to build an art wall on the grounds of Halifax Citadel High School. The wall considers the Halifax Common, it's history, present and future in the lives of the students and the community. The Same Boat Horn. I decided on painting the horn white to avoid toy references and to mimic a classic lighthouse/boat color. When I was building the horn I heard Van Morrison's song into The Mystic, with the lyrics "let your fog horn blow, into the mystic"
